Ankle Instability

One of the most common podiatric problems for athletes, Ankle Instability can be classified into two categories: mechanical or functional. Functional Ankle Instability is difficult to diagnose and treat as each injury is specialized to the the individuals perception of how weak orstrong their ankle. Mechanical Instability is easier to treat, as there are visible evidence that the ligament can no longer fully support the ankle.

Typically, Instability patients have a long history of this type of injury and surgery is the most typically prescribed treatment option.
